Telemarketing spam calls are only getting worse than ever. Data shows there were 3.4 billion robocalls last month, an increase of more than 900 million over last April. But did you know there are things you can do to get a break from them? Telecom professional Roger Anderson is bringing you a new strategy to fight back and get some robocall revenge.

1. Trust the Government

To get you started, you can head to the website, and register your phone. It's free and you only have to do it once. It won't stop all calls, but it can't hurt and it's an easy step one.

2. Try Call Blockers

Some call blockers have access to a huge database of known numbers and are able to block those calls. Others recognize a robocall and make it sound like your number is no longer in service. Check what your carrier offers, along with third-party options such as Hiya, Mister Number, Nomorobo and TrueCaller.

3. Call Interceptors

Finally, you can beat them at their own game with call interceptors. Companies like RoboKiller and Jolly Roger Telephone Company have programmed robots of their own that use voice recognition and artificial intelligence to waste telemarketers' time. Some calls can go on for as long as 13 minutes, and the results are frequently hilarious. Robo-dialers can make thousands of calls a minute for almost nothing. But when your robot gets an actual human on the line, that starts costing the scammers money. A one-year subscription will run you only $6. And the more users, the better the group benefits.

Next time you get one of those annoying spam calls at home, remember that there are ways you can turn the tables on them and make your life easier.
