Looking to take your food to the next-level, but not sure where to start? Bradley Hasemeyer and Registered Dietician, Gillean Barkyoumb, have three delicious recipes that get the super food treatment by adding spices, tea, and seeds.
1. Blueberry Matcha Green Tea Smoothie
This super smoothie has the benefit of ECGC, and anti-oxidants that help with boosting your metabolism.
Start with a frozen banana, then add a cup of soy milk (you can use any kind of milk), about a cup of blueberries, and mix in some pineapple. Then add honey, and that matcha green tea.
2. Flat Belly Chia Seed Salad
It's light and fresh, and it's got the chia seeds, which is a great source of omega three fatty acids. Those are very important for heart health, brain health, and skin health.
Start with any kind of lettuce or mixed greens. Then add about ¾ of a cucumber, then about a ¼ cup of blueberries and pineapple. You can even cut them up into smaller chunks. Put some of these roma tomatoes in, and just a quarter teaspoon of chia seeds.
3. Yogurt Turmeric Dressing
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties, heart health. It’s an amazing component to add to your diet, and it even has some anti-depressant properties.
This one is very simple. Just add your yogurt, a tablespoon of olive oil. Then add garlic paste and then one teaspoon of turmeric. Top it off with some ground pepper, and serve over a salad.
That’s three simple ingredients that will supercharge your food, and leave you feeling energized!
