Target coupons are everywhere and if you use them right, they can easily score you some amazing savings. The List chatted with savings expert Tina Su from FreeStuffFinder.com to highlight ways to best utilize Target coupons – and other money-saving hacks you probably didn’t know about!

1. Cartwheel

Cartwheel is a feature inside the Target app that offers savings on selected items or product categories. You can see all Cartwheel offers listed by category, or just use the scanner built into the app to check items as you shop. You can scan barcodes, and it will tell you if there’s a Cartwheel offer on it, or if there’s any store promotions or sales.

2. Target Red Card

For those of you that don’t want credit cards, you can get the debit card version. Target’s Red Card will get you an automatic five percent off your Target purchases and extends your return window by 30 days.

3. Know Your Gift Cards

Target rewards you with gift cards in two basic ways: there are gift card promotions, and then there are category coupons, which sometimes give you gift cards.

And while you can’t get the five percent off discount from Red Card when purchasing Target store gift cards, you can get five percent off brand-specific gift cards like Starbucks or Disney. Every little bit helps and the savings add up. Five percent on $1,000 is $50 in savings, which can be significant.

4.  Bring Your Own Bag

You can get five cents taken off your transaction for every shopping bag you bring and end up using at checkout. Ten bags equal 50 cents. Plus, it’s good for the environment.

5. California’s Target Hack

In California, you can ask the cashier to cash you out and receive cash for any gift cards with a balance of less than $10. It’s required by law in Cali. “For example, if you do a promotion for shampoo where you buy four and get a $5 gift card, you can turn that around immediately after the transaction and ask the cashier to cash out that gift card,” explains Tina.

6. Missed Target Coupons

If you have expired Target coupons or Cartwheel deals, don’t worry! You can always bring your missed receipts and Target coupons to customer service. They will apply a “missed coupon” on your receipt and give you money back. You do, however, have one to three days to claim a missed coupon. Time limit also depends on store location, so make sure to ask your local store for their policy.

7. Price Adjustment

If something you purchased within the last two weeks goes on sale, you can ask for a price adjustment. This works for both online and in-store purchases. This excludes clearance price drops.

8. Price Match

If you see a lower price on Amazon (items sold by Amazon, not third party sellers) or a list of other retailers such as Best Buy, Macy’s, Office Depot or GameStop, they can price match it at customer service.

So, there you have it, now you’re all set to make the most out of those Target coupons you’ve been stashing away. The savings could mean serious cash for you!
