It’s rodeo season which means roping, racing and bull riding. There are more than 7,500 cowboys and cowgirls competing for over $30 million at 650 events a year. Kristina Guerrero found three rodeos that are consider the best of the best across America.

1. Pendleton Roundup in Pendleton, Oregon

This weeklong event includes bronco and bull riding as well as well as steer wrestling and roping. Visitors are also treated to a Native American pageant and a tipi village full of dancing and craft goods vendors.

2. Wrangler National Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada

Along with all the rodeo favorites, this nine day event also features a cow a cowboy Christmas convention with 350 vendors. Of course you can’t miss the Junior National Finals!

3.  Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in Houston, Texas

This is a three week long extravaganza of livestock, rodeo and western heritage music. 2.5 million people have visited the event since it began in 1932 making this the biggest rodeo and livestock show in the world. Only the best athletes are invited to the rodeo and of course it wouldn’t be Texas if there wasn’t a world class barbecue competition as well.
