Grocery stores can be overwhelming. There are so many aisles and choices, but consumer savings expert Andrea Woroch says you can narrow down your list because there are some things you should never buy at the supermarket. She is sharing them with Kristina Guerrero.

1. Name Brand Cereal, Spices, Flour & Sugar

Seasoning and herbs, flour, sugar these types of products are not going to differ between name brand and generic. These only have one ingredient so the only difference is the packaging so you might as well save money up to 30 percent by generic. Also, manufacturers of name brands also make the generic versions so they're nearly identical.

2. Condiments & Paper Products

Most consumers can tell the difference between Heinz ketchup and the generic store brands. And don't buy generic toilet paper or paper towels. With paper products it’s better to buy the store brand version because they're better quality and they'll last you longer. It’s the same with trash bags. No one wants their bag to rip half way down the driveway.

3. Pre-Made

Grocery stores know that families and consumers have limited time to cook so they jack up the prices on the fruits and veggies that they chop for you. You're looking at paying 40 to 60 percent more than you would if you just bought the whole produce.

4. Traps

Stores rely heavily on customers impulse purchases and they will try whatever they can to get you to buy things you really don't need. Be sure to venture down the isles to find the best deals. And never buy batteries at the grocery store. It's a trap!
