Millions of people in the U.S. flock to their state fair each year, for classic carnival rides, big musical artist, local art, and deep fried everything. Brian Corsetti went out to find some of the best state fairs across America.

To narrow down some of the nation's best state fairs he is looking at the overall attendance, the history, and HUMONGOUSNESS, because ultimately, a bigger state fair is a better state fair, right?

1.  Ohio State Fair

A tradition dating back to 1851, they also have great entertainment on tap this year with Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, and Foghat. They have some wild competitions there, with the Candy Bouquet Competition, Old Familiar Beard Bash Competition, and the Slinging Aces Cornhole Tournament. This year 4th grade students get in free!

2.  Wisconsin State Fair

This fair is a 165 year old state tradition that draws more than a hundred thousand people, over 11 days in August. This place is known for their cream puffs, and there's plenty of puffing here, not to mention classic amusement park rides, and music. This year they've got the "I Love the ‘90s" tour with Salt N Pepa, Coolio, and Vanilla ice!

3.  Minnesota State Fair

The largest in the country by daily attendance with over 1.8 million people, and home to Princess Kay of the Milky Way. Every year since 1954, a princess is crowned to serve as the official Goodwill Ambassador for the Minnesota Dairy Industry. Since 1965 her image has been carved in a 90 pound block of butter. Butter get ready for good food, awesome rides, and a great family experience.

4.  Iowa State Fair

Of course their rides are fun, and their food is sinful, but they really stand out with their big animal competition, yodeling competitions, and a whistling competition. Here’s a tip: Buy your tickets online before August 10th, and save an additional 30%.

5.  Texas State Fair

24 days of the biggest rides, southern style food, and 75 different concerts all free with admission to the fairgrounds, concerts, and parties. plus, it’s the only state fair with a full blown auto show. with 3 million people confirmed at last year’s fair, this is bar far the biggest state fair in American history.
