We don't call it “America the Beautiful” for nothin'! From amber waves of grain to purple mountain majesties, we're looking at some of the prettiest spots across the great U.S. of A.
1. Snoqualmie Falls, Washington
Our first stop is Snoqualmie Falls, Washington. Just 45 minutes outside of Seattle, the 268-foot waterfall is visited by over a million people each year. The roar of the water is intense but breathtaking – and you can walk the scenic trail from the top to the base for views below.
2. Downtown Marietta, Ohio
Next, we asked our Facebook friends to name the prettiest place in Ohio – and Jill Casanto sent us to the town of Marietta. Founded in 1785, the picturesque downtown oozes history and charm – from shops on Mainstreet, to outdoor water activities on the beautiful Muskingum and Ohio Rivers.
3. Overland Park Arboretum – Kansas
Finally, we asked Kansas City native Crystal Lampitt to give us a must-see spot in her neck of the woods! “When it's nicer outside,” says Crystal, “it's one of my favorite places to just go and take a walk, and relax, and see all the flowers and butterflies. Overland Park Arboretum and botanical gardens is open year-round and its 300 acres is perfect for a peaceful stroll.
From sea to shining sea, these are some of the prettiest places across America.
