Vegetarian Fast Food: 3 Best Fast Food Chains with Vegetarian OptionsLOWDOWN
Looking for vegetarian fast food? Then keep reading! We’ve seen plant-based meat in the stores, but now major fast food chains are serving it up, too. So what’s all the hype about? Buckle up, because we’re checking out some new vegetarian options at three major restaurants.
1. Del Taco
Let’s kick off out list of vegetarian fast food options at Del Taco! Del Taco teamed up with the Beyond Meat company, which makes their beef replacement from mostly pea protein and coconut oil. Their product? The Beyond Taco! They offer an avocado vegan version without cheese, or a vegetarian version with cheese. And as an added bonus – you can actually replace any meat on Del Taco’s menu with Beyond Meat. We’re beyond stoked about that!
2. Carl’s Jr.
Next – if it doesn’t get all over the place, it doesn’t belong on your face! Carl’s Jr. is taking their burgers beyond with the new Beyond Famous Star. Using the Beyond Meat in patty form, Carl’s Jr. lets you substitute the Beyond Burger in any of their sandwiches. We tried it for ourselves and can honestly say it’s amazing – you can even taste the char! This is one of those vegetarian fast food options that couldn’t taste more like a burger. You’re welcome, cows!
3. Burger King
Next, if having it your way means having it meatless, then head on over to Burger King. Burger King is getting in on the vegetarian fast food options bonanza too with the Impossible Burger. It’s a meatless patty made from soy and potato proteins and coconut flakes. Right now the Impossible Whopper is only available in St. Louis, but Burger King says it will be serving ’em up to the rest of the country by the end of 2019.
If you wanted vegetarian options at a fast food joint in the past, you’d usually get served with a side of stink-eye. But not anymore! Now you know of three plant-based protein twists on classic meals to enjoy.
