The first ever scientific study to test the validity of facial exercise just found evidence that those exercises may improve facial appearance and reduce signs of aging. So ditch the Botox, and forget going under the knife! We met with the owner of Skin Fit Gym Koko Hayashi, and took a class to learn the top three face exercises.
1. Drop the Double Chin
Our first exercise shows you how to drop the double chin. “First, relax your body,” instructs Koko. “Look up and stretch your neck.” Then push your chin forward, and slowly point your tongue out and count to ten. “If you make it a habit, it’s easy to do,” adds Koko. “Make it a habit to do it once a day, every time you go to bathroom.”
2. Cheeks of Steel
Next up, we’re getting you cheeks of steel. Achieve this by curling your top lip so you can see your teeth. You’ll look silly – but you’re lifting those cheeks! This sounds like something great to do while driving, if you ask us. That way no one will think you have road rage if they see you smiling!
3. Weaken Wrinkles
Lastly, learn to weaken those wrinkles. “We want to stretch the wrinkles by doing this exercise,” Koko starts to explain. “So make this face, and slowly look at something, and move the eyes up, up, up, up.” You’re stretching out your face where you tend to squint and get the most wrinkles.
Koko says you’ll see results in a few weeks if you continue to do these exercises on a daily basis. And it’s never too late to start! Don’t be afraid to look a little silly, get your face workout on.
