What’s The Deal? 3 Ways to Purify the Air Around YouHealth The List
Looking to clean up the air around you and your family? Jimmy Rhoades has three products that promise to tidy up the atmosphere in three places you breathe most.
There are a bevy of air purifiers available for rooms in your home – highly rated models range from about $200 to $600 -the more expensive models include fancy interfaces with your smartphone, but most of the basic technology is the same: a fan draws air through filters that trap particles that are .3 microns or larger, which is good enough to eliminate most pet dander, dust, smoke, pollen and most importantly, viruses and bacteria.
2. Your Car
There are several brands of ionizers that plug into your cars cigarette lighter and say they to clear out cigarette smoke pretty well. The reviews are mixed, but they're pretty affordable – ranging from about $15 to $50 – so they might be worth trying to see if they work for you.
More expensive at about $120, but more highly rated is the Philips GoPure. Like the home based models, it uses replicable filters and an indicator will tell you when it's time to change them.
3. Out In Public
Airtamer makes a line of personal air purifiers you wear around your neck. They claim their ionization process creates a three foot bubble of clean air around your head. The wearable purifiers start at about $70.
