What’s The Deal with Black Friday Deals?Deals The List
The Wall Street Journal found that many big retailers have trotted out the same items on their Black Friday circulars for four years running. Think of it like retailers playing their greatest hits. They know what works on Black Friday, they know what entices shoppers to get in the store, and they don't want to mess with it. Jimmy Rhoades and Rather Be Shopping’s Kyle James have three holiday shopping hacks that will get you the best deals this year.
1. Use the Circular to Plan
Use the store circular as your crib sheet. If it's hot deals that are on the front page of the Black Friday ad you're almost always going to have to get up early and go in and find it in the store, but for the most part everything else that you find in that circular, you can get online for the same price.
2. Shop eBay
People will go out and snatch up as many of those door buster deals as they can get their hands on. In order to turn a quick profit they'll go home and put a lot of that loot up on eBay. What that means for the shopper is you can go on eBay that weekend after Black Friday and basically find many of those same deals.
3. Abandon Your Cart
Make sure you're logged in to your account, add the item you want to buy, leave it there and log out. Many cases what that does is triggers an internal email sent to you with a coupon that offers a better deal. It's kind of a passive-aggressive way to score savings on Black Friday and beyond.
