Is there such a thing as the perfect age? We're all aging as we speak — but have you already left your best years behind, or are they yet to come? Dr. Jay Olshansky, who researches how to slow down the aging process, says he's heard many different answers, and is now helping us build the perfect age. Read on for four factors that might determine your perfect age.

1. Physical Strength

According to science, our physical strength peaks around age 25. So, if we maximize our physical vitality around this age, of course we'd say our perfect age is around our 20s. You might be stronger as a 25-year-old, but maybe lacking in other areas such as financial stability and education.

2. Money

Let's look at money. Your financial decisions peak around the age of 50. Thus, if you strengthen your income and intellectual areas of your life, then your perfect age will start getting up into your 40s, 50s and even 60s. Researchers at Texas Tech University found that financial literacy scores continued to increase each year, plateauing around 50 years old.

3. Psychological Well-Being

This one might come as a surprise. As it turns out, your psychological well-being peaks at around 82 years old. Yep, according to a National Academy of Science study, your best life might be at the age when you'd least expect it. Who would've thought?!

4. Love

So, what about love? The peak age for marriage is between 28 and 32. It's been called the "Goldilocks Theory" of marriage, because data suggests the divorce rate is higher if you get hitched outside of that age range.

When it comes to the perfect age, perhaps there's no such thing as perfect. It all depends on perception and what we seek in life.
