We love comedies, thrillers, and action movies. But sometimes films about real life can be even more exciting. So today we're bringing you a list of our favorite documentaries coming to theaters this summer.

1. RBG

Ruth Bader Ginsburg's life is the subject of a new documentary called RGB. As she approaches 25 years as a Supreme Court Justice, Ginsburg says she hopes to see more women on the high court bench. She's become a pop culture icon with celebrity status, and though at 85 she's the oldest sitting justice, she shows no signs of slowing down. RBG is in theaters now.

2. Whitney

Whitney Houston's estate has approved a documentary about her life for the very first time, featuring never-before-seen footage of the icon. The eponymonously-named documentary includes insights from Whitney herself, plus interviews with family and friends, such as Bobby Brown and Kevin Costner. Don't miss this revealing film, which hits theaters July 6th.

3. Won't You Be My Neighbor?

If you loved watching Mister Rogers' Neighborhood as a kid, then you'll love this news. A new documentary is taking viewers beyond the cardigan, and exploring how Mr. Rogers broke barriers and inspired generations. Fred Rogers began his PBS show in 1968, which over 31 years tackled thorny topics like race and disabilities. Feel his kindness in theaters June 8th.

4. Three Identical Strangers

Learning you have a long-lost twin at 19 is shocking, but imagine finding out you're a triplet! And it only gets crazier from there. This story involves unsuspecting parents, secret psychological experiments, and massive cover-ups. Learn their twisted tale on June 29th.

Documentary lovers can rejoice this summer, as some long-anticipated docs make their way to theaters. Time to get the popcorn ready!
